Dr. Guimin Gao is currently a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Chicago. He served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Virginia Commonwealth University between December 2009 and July 2015 and served as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed graduate studies in biostatistics at Sun Yatsen University of Medical Sciences in China (Ph.D. in 2000) and postdoctoral studies in statistical genetics at Creighton University and Virginia Tech (2001-2005). Dr. Gao served as the principal investigator between 2007-2014 for a R01 research grant awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), entitled “Haplotyping and QTL mapping in pedigrees with missing data”. He has reviewed manuscripts for 16 journals and reviewed grant applications for NIH. Dr. Gao has published 48 peer reviewed papers.
